Autumn Frost Autumn's small hooves sliced through the water with only the lightest of splashes, flinging small amounts of spray up to darken the lines of her long legs. She held her streaming russet tail high, proud, but that did not keep the waves from lapping at the tips of it. She didn't mind, in the end. She was not about to melt because she was wet. Tossing her mane lightly, she paused, fluted ears flickering about in search of any noise. She had not seen another horse all day, and somehow that bothered her. The land should not be so quiet, so still. It was unnerving, and gave her the feeling that she was the only creature left alive. That was not a feeling the particularly enjoyed. Autumn was a social, if fiery, creature, and preferred to spend her time among others. She hated to be alone. A low, screeching call from overhead brought her head up. She watched as the gull sailed over head, nostrils flaring, taking in every fleck of salt in the air. She could feel herself quivering with the very sense of life that surrounded the sea. She prayed she would find someone else soon, so she would not be quite so lonely. Even to stand beside another horse for a while and simply graze would be enough. She was tired of wandering alone.

Erebus
I walked along the coastline, soft sand giving way under heavy ebony daggers to leave large u shaped scars. And yet, the grains did not take this so lightly, in return leaving a mark of their own. My charcoal feathers were sprinkled with sand, the lightly tanned substance sticking upon my hide wherever it could reach, as my whipcord drug upon the ground. My curled forelock hung down my finely chiseled face, hiding my raven colored pools beneath. I looked mysterious here, after all why would a beast of such honor mingle with the normals. And yet I wanted to have a herd of them, a family to call my own. I knew of the sadness that that would bring, after all I had had a family of my own once. And I had been tortured because of it. I had watched all but my sister die of disease or old age, knowing that there was nothing I could do to stop it, and that I would never join them, never see any of them again. It had been enough to keep me from living, but now I was ready to try again. I was done moping; now I wanted to live my life. And here was where it would start.
The cry of the gulls, irritating to most, was calming to me. It filled my harks with background noise, enough to calm my nerves. The sky here was almost always a powder blue, filled with big puffs of clouds, and the water that lapped upon the shore was crystal clear. And yet this was not where I called home, no I had my own little haven in the valley. It was just as gorgeous, but I much rather preferred it there. Here it was a treat, but the scent of the salt in the air and the lonely cry of the gulls would be enough to drive one crazy if one stayed here long enough. And so instead I made my common visit gladly.
My head snapped up as I heard another’s hooves penetrating the warm coastline. The mare was of arab descent, head dished and banner held high as her crimson hide shone in the sunlight. Her face was marred by ivory, large almond orbs on either side. She wasn’t bad looking, and my lips began to veer upward at the edges, a hint of a smile visible as I continued to walk towards here, my own pillars in a prance.
My honor, Madame.
[/b][/color] My voice was low and gravelly as it rumbled out from deep within my chest, one of my most attractive features, and I let the front of my body drop, leg extended and head tucked into an elegant bow. I let my own pools drift upward, sneaking a peak at her mask while my forelock hid my curiosity.[/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Autumn Frost Autumn had just begun to consider leaving the beach, journeying further in search of a herd which might accept her, when the soft thud of prancing hooves reached her ears. She dropped her head from the gull, twisting her entire body around to face the one who approached her. She had been alive long enough to know that one should never turn her back on someone she did not know. The stallion was gorgeous, that much was instantly obvious. But kind, trustworthy...? That was to be seen. Where many mares might have submitted to the stallion, as he bowed to her she simply drew herself further up, ears pricking up, head high over her arched neck. She snorted quietly and pranced a step back, away from him, wary. The movement caught the sun in her pelt, and her entire body seemed to flash the color of burnished copper, cut through with the purest snowy white of her star. Her tail whisked nervously behind her, every muscle in her body taut, ready to flee at the slightest sign of violence from this stranger. "And mine, my lord," she answered, as was only polite. "I apologize if I have trespassed on your land. I did not realize that this beach was claimed."

Erebus
I was waiting for her to make the first move before I came out of my bow, and she instantly did. I watched her closely, analyzing, as she stood taller, chest puffed out and harks at attention. Air blew out of her nostrils quickly, her daggers staccato as she backed away, pools showing caution. I could tell that she was tense, muscles ready to take orders and whipcord unsettled. And as she spoke, her voice was nothing more than what I would expect from such a flighty beast. Her tone was polite, nothing more, nothing less. And mine, my lord. I apologize if I have trespassed on your land, I did not realize that this beach was claimed.
I stood up, stretching my own large muscles as I straightened up to above 17 hands. I seemed to tower over her, my frame a dark yet glorious shadow, and I could understand why she was nervous. I let my head hang low to the ground, muscles at ease and pools soft, hoping that she would understand I was of no threat. Humor leaked through my words as I spoke, Don’t worry maiden, your senses didn’t lead you astray. This beach is unclaimed, merely a place for wandering souls such as my own.
[/i][/b] I took in a deep breath, allowing my world to grow hazy around me as I reveled in the very heart of all things wonderful. I like to come here to think, to be on my own.[/i][/b] My voice was now a soft whisper as I spoke, and the wind coming off of the water tore at my words. But it’s with great pleasure that I greet you today. I’m glad that our paths did cross.[/i][/b] My dark pools swept over her frame, taking in the small fae once more. We’ve merely just met, and already I feel drawn to you.[/i][/b] I took a small step forward; head still hung low as my gaze locked upon hers. Oh how I wanted to feel her soft muzzle against mine, our warm breath becoming one. And yet I was cautious, not wanting to startle the poor dear. Already she looked as if she was having a minor heart attack.[/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Autumn rocked another step back - just one hoof shifting positions, barely an inch of movement across the sand. Her ears flickered, searching out every sound. The rush of waves as they wreathed around her slender legs, the hiss of the wind against in her mane, the scream of the gulls. The stallion's rough, gravelly voice.
Don’t worry maiden, your senses didn’t lead you astray. This beach is unclaimed, merely a place for wandering souls such as my own. I took in a deep breath, allowing my world to grow hazy around me as I reveled in the very heart of all things wonderful. I like to come here to think, to be on my own. My voice was now a soft whisper as I spoke, and the wind coming off of the water tore at my words. But it’s with great pleasure that I greet you today. I’m glad that our paths did cross.
My dark pools swept over her frame, taking in the small fae once more. We’ve merely just met, and already I feel drawn to you. I took a small step forward; head still hung low as my gaze locked upon hers.
Autumn had just started to relax, assured that this land did not belong to the stallion, when he made a move towards her. Her head shot upwards, neck straining as she gazed through wide-eyes at the giant, dark creature. Straightened up to full height, her head barely reached above his shoulders. But size was not always a measure of strength. Autumn was powerful, and she could turn on a dime and run faster than the wind. If she chose to flee, she was confident that he would not catch her.
But she did not particularly want to run. There was something inside of her - perhaps her own loneliness, her boredom of wandering, perhaps something more physical than that - which drove her to stand her ground. She lashed her tail behind her, sending sprays of silvery seawater into the air.
"What do you want with me, my lord?" she demanded. She was not one for subtleties or secrets. She did not like to be courted or chased with romantic offerings and gentle looks. She was a mare of bluntness and passion. She liked everything out in the open where she could see it. He would tell her his intentions... or she would run now and he would never see her again.

Erebus
As my dagger sunk deep into the sand, just an inch closer to the mare, she instantly grew rowdy. Her head shot up, orbs wide and filled with fear. And yet all my bodily functions were happening at a normal speed, and I wasn’t worried in the least. I wished that she was as calm around me as I her, and yet I knew that it wouldn’t be so. This concerned me slightly, but there was nothing I could do about it other than let her decide her own fate. After all, did I really want such an air head in a herd of mine, carrying my young or leading the herd? She did not seem to be fit for such a position, but one could never judge too quickly, and it was good to be cautious about a creature. You never knew if it was a trap.
Her whipcord began to grow more violent with each passing swish, a habit that annoyed me greatly. Harsh strands broke the wind, hushed cracks audible. My twin peaks were tilted backwards now, I sign that I was growing impatient with her. What do you want with me, my Lord? Her voice came out harsh now, demanding, and my pools were lit aflame. She had no right to talk to me in such a demeaning tone and yet she seemed not to have a second thought about it. But instead of growing harsh with the little dear I pushed all emotion away, my mask an empty pallet.
It was merely a coincident that we happened to be in the same place at the same time, was it not? Out of politeness I spoke to you, gracing you with my good manners. And yet you shame me with your harsh tone. If you wish, I will leave. I’m always in the mood for company, but I understand that some are not.
[/i][/b] And although my words weren’t of the lightest matter my tone said otherwise. She had gotten snappy with me, and yet I was nothing more than a gentlemen to her, whether she cared to admit it or not.[/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Autumn Frost As quickly as she had become tense, Autumn relaxed. Her tail stilled at the stallion's words, though she still held it proudly above her back. Her head came down - just a little bit. She didn't want to be too much smaller than he was. She snorted quietly, letting her ears relax, letting herself feel the soothing spray of the ocean. Carefully she averted her eyes. She knew she must have offended him. She did it far too often, and usually unintentionally. "My apologies, my lord," she whickered. "I have heard rumors of stallions who are... less than gentle..."Indeed, there were rumors. Nothing about what she had said was a lie. She did not know exactly where, but she had been told that there were forcers somewhere near - nearer, at least, than she would have liked. She was a mare who wished to be a part of a herd, loyal only to the stallion who chose her. Not the mother of a foal by a stallion who simply wanted his way and cared nothing for her. "My name is Autumn Frost... I would be glad of your company..." she let herself settle, refusing to back away further. She could still run if need be, but there did not seem to be any reason for that. She had overreacted, and she knew it. But she had always been a mare of fiery spirit, one who did not trust immediately. One who trusted those she trusted completely. "I am sorry that I offended you..." she whispered again.

Erebus
And as my words left my cave she instantly became more relaxed, whipcord finally dangling limp between well rounded cheeks. She lowered her crania enough, even if it was only a mere inch, but she was an arab after all. They weren’t particularly known for their low hung crowns. She was much more gorgeous when she stood like this, her little frame making her look delicate. And then her pools dropped to the ground, no longer locked upon my own as she spoke. My apologies, my Lord. Her voice was soft and regretful, apologetic. I have heard rumors of stallions who are… Less than gentle. My name is Autumn Frost, I would be glad of your company. I am sorry that I offended you.
I once more wanted to approach her, to press my velvety black muzzle against her more delicate ivory marked one, and yet I restrained myself. Even though I only wanted to console her, to let her know that I meant no harm, I wasn’t sure that she would see it in such a way. Yes, Love, it is very clever of you to be weary. Many dark creatures lurk in even darker corners, and a beautiful fae such as yourself would make a very desirable target. But I promise that I will protect rather than harm.
[/i][/b] I bowed my crown in a respectful manner once more, before speaking again. Erebus,[/i][/b] I stated, At your service.[/b][/color] I let my ebony pools search his, brows gathered in a worried appearance.[/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Autumn Frost Autumn gave a relieved sort of sigh and took a hesitant step forwards through the frothing waves. She was endlessly calmer now that she had been assured of his peaceful intent. Willing to stand closer to him, let her guard down a little. Perhaps, even, to touch him... Gently, she stretched out her muzzle, brushing is. Telling him that it was okay if he wanted to touch her in such a way. She wouldn't run if he did something as gentle as that. If he tried to go beyond that, she might fight back, but such a gentle greeting was fine in her eyes. "So... why are you here?" she whickered, still standing close enough to touch him, but pulling her muzzle back just a little bit. "If you don't mind my asking, of course." She did not want to offend the stallion again. She had been wandering alone for too long - she wanted to settle down, join a herd, start a family, and she most definitely did not want to ruin her chances. She almost had, she knew. The price of caution was steep.

I watched the femme closely as her lips parted enough for a sigh to escape, her pillars taking a single step forward, the waves breaking upon her legs. No longer was she a nervous wreck, and her nerves had calmed down very much so, amazingly. From where she was she outstretched her muzzle, letting it softly touch mine. My skin began to tingle under hers, and my lips instantly pulled up in a content smile, pools shimmering.
So, why are you here? She pulled her velveteen kissers away now, a slight space between us that I decided to keep for her comfort. If you don’t mind my asking, of course. I gave a slight nod of my crania, pools still alight with the thought of her touch, before I spoke, my voice soft. I come here to think often,
[/b][/color] I stated. It’s my getaway. Just earlier I laid claim upon a land.[/b][/color] Maybe, just maybe, this mare would like to be in my herd, the first member. She was all alone after all, but in reality that meant little.[/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Autumn Frost Autumn's lips twitched up in a smile and her tail swished again, but this time contentedly. Her ears pricked forwards at his words. A newly claimed territory, and a stallion who could still wander out to the beaches whenever he felt like it. He could not have many mares yet... or perhaps any... Perhaps... she had found a home? Well, she could certainly hope. "Are you alone?" she asked, probing for the truth. She didn't want to frighten him away or offend him again with her bluntness... but she was having trouble coming up with any gentle way to ask to join him. "I... would like to see these lands you have claimed... if..." she trailed off awkwardly.

Are you alone? Her voice was soft as she questioned me, my expression matching her tone. I was quick to answer, my own body still relaxed as the waves broke, swirling around my tendons before being drug back out to see once more. I am alone here, and in my homeland alike.
[/i][/b] As I answered her simple question she asked yet another one. I… I would like to see these lands you have claimed… if… The twinkle reappeared in my raven pools as I realized what she was asking. Why yes, how very rude of me not to offer sooner! I would be thrilled if you’d accompany me back.[/i][/b] I took in a deep breath, willing the beat of my heart to slow once more as I quick looked at the gulls above. They belonged here, but me and this mare did not. I had already chosen a place just as grand, a luxury positioned between two large mountains, and that is where she would now call home. I have named my land Chaos, and it is a large chunk in the valley. The land is gorgeous there, almost as gorgeous as you my lady.[/b][/i] My voice held charm, the thing that drew all the ladies in. She would be my first mare to enter Chaos, the first mare I had claimed as my own in a very long time. I couldn’t help but wonder if I’d slip back into my old ways, though, or if I had rid myself of them completely and would start a new life. I guess it was time to find out.[/color][/size][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]

Autumn Frost Autumn's ears twitched slightly as she took another step forwards, stretching her muzzle out and pressing it against his shoulder. A gesture of tentative affection. And of deepest respect. "I would love to join you," she whickered. Standing this close to him, it was difficult for her not to notice how much taller he really was than she. He was massive - tall and strong and heavily muscled - and she was suddenly very glad that he had not been a forcer. Not that she had not been glad of that to begin with. Now her relief was simply enforced. Had he been a forcer, she would have had no change of escape. "Is it far?" she asked, raising her head again and gazing at him as she spoke. She did her best not to betray her own eagerness to see this land.

The femme seemed to be growing more relaxed as she moved forward, nuzzling pressing against my shoulder. My shoulder tingled from her touch, it had been much too long since I’d had a female companion, and now the years were catching up with me. I was definitely out of season.
I would love to join you. Is it far? Her sparkling pools met my own and I couldn’t help but show a smile as I replied. It ‘tis in the valley my dear.
[/b][/color] I began to walk towards the land I had only recently claimed, land that up until now hadn’t felt homey. But hopefully my first mare would help me break things in, help me gain some experience and learn to love once more. I let myself break into an excited little prance, looking back to make sure the femme was following.[/color] OOC: His land is Chaos in the Valley.
