She blinked, confused. She was standing on a beach, a big beautiful beach and the tide was out. Hold on a minute. How did that happen? How did she get there? She blinked hard. Wait a second, this was so wrong, what on earth was she doing here? She tried to remember what had been happening before she was standing here, but she couldn't. Wait, no, she could...She had been in a field, minding her own business, her herd was with her, and then, she was here. Standing on some beach. She wasn't sure how long she had been standing there, but she was brought back to earth again by the tickle of the water. She closed her eyes for a moment, feeling the ocean swirling around her heels. A smile crept onto her face and she felt the cool sea breeze, felt it fingering her mane and she breathed deep.
"Well, I suppose this isn't so bad," she mumbled to herself. She smiled even more, and opened her eyes. She frowned a little when she got a good look. Odd. This place seemed somewhat familiar, but she didn't remember ever being at a beach before. In fact, she was fairly certain that she had never been anywhere near a beach before...well, until how. She wasn't entirely sure how long she stood there, but she was aware of an unusual scent drifting through the air after some time. She didn't need to look to see what it was. She turned slowly to face it, and a wry smile crept on her lips. "Hello there."
The wolf stood there, its dark eyes staring straight into hers. She smiled, looking at the black wolf, and he looked at her. She took a step towards them. Because now there were two others who joined them, two dark greys. She walked over to them and stared them down. "What are you doing?" she said quietly. "Why are you following me?" She stared at them somewhat harshly. The wolves stared at her, showing neither aggression, nor friendliness. Herbivore and carnivore stared at each other, but neither made a move. She shook her head, and then, all of a sudden, she staggered. Something flashed across her eyes, an image that wasn't her own.
A figure, a strange being huddled in darkness. His face wasn't that of a horse, but his eyes were that of a beast. She was shaking, there were whispers, terrified voices behind her, but she was focused on the beast. The creature huddled under a black cloak stared directly at her, and his head tilted as he looked at her. "What do you want?" she yelled. The creature's head tilted the other direction, and it stared at her. She could feel herself shaking. The creature almost seemed to smile through the strange gap of a mouth. "The wolf..." it hissed. For a split second, she felt like he had said something before. Like it had been speaking to her. "But you?" he said. "The wolf....the wolf, there is something of the wolf about you..."
Then the wolves were in front of her again. You... She blinked. It had just spoken...in her head. She stared at him. His voice was rough, coarse, but there was still no hostility. What is your name? She wasn't sure what to say, but it seemed as though she didn't need to say anything. Darligulv, that is my name. The black wolf, who was speaking curled his lip. You... he hissed in her mind. You are the one. "What?" she said out loud, but the wolf picked up her thoughts as well. He backed away.
You...you are the Bad Wolf.

Graye
My kind ran on our familiar padded paws, graceful in our own way. Close to the ground, our shock-absorbant paws pads under our our silken legs. It was delightfully easy, being a wolf. It was just living as one that required the strength, stamina, the endurance. Will to survive.
I perked my ears, slowing from a run to a hesitant halt in mere strides. The two wolves, both darker shades of gray, flanked me on either side and they slowed as I did. They were alert, knew to listen to my body language as thei pack leader. I 'heard' their emotions, flashing in my head as pictures and feelings. It was how wolves normally communicated. There were stranger ways but this was the usual method. I sent them an image of foreign wolves and then of a taller creature, four-hooved, a mare. I 'told' them I was only curious. I nodded for them to patrol around in the trees, and in moments their sleek hides disappeared among the leaves and trunks of trees. I saw the mare, a pretty golden colored horse with black locks. I took a pawstep towards her. My body crumpled suddenly in a writhing heap. I let out a small, barely audible whimper, knowing what was to come.
The transformation lasted moments. Each time it was quicker but also more painful. And I was the younger of severa in our pack; Eirik was the oldest, and Manen the second oldest. They were entirely transformed; both over age five in horse years, younger in wolf age. They told me the rules were that I would be like that, too, when I was fully grown. Permanently a wolf. But I did miss being a horse, missed being normal. I was cast out for my strangeness.
Curling my lip in frustration, I rubbed a foreleg with my incisor teeth an thought about the one thing I didn't miss about eing a full-time equine: horseflies. Putting one hoof in front of the other, I was careful to not rustle the leaves too much. Considering I had exceptional stealth and agility, I made little noise whatsoever. But as I approached the buckskin mare and the sparse trees ahead opened up onto a golden sandy beach, I blew a huff of hot air through my wrinkled nostrils. My body, with its silver tint that looked silky when the light touched it, emerged from the leafy hadows of the trees. Looking down the line of ending trees,I met the eyes of the mare. There were wlves there although they weren't pouncing on her, but they weren't acting too friendly, either. A sort-of growl resonated from my throat, and the lead wolf's ears flicked back. I did what I could to send mental images to the animal, and bared my horse's teeth. The wolf's eyes betrayed recognition and a hint of anxiety -of course we'd met before, and I had triumphed in our most recent sparring- and the wolf backed away.
He darted into the trees, followed by his two comrades. I was silent, waching them go. I was pondering heavily, about those wolves. And I'd already thought deeply enough about this mare. It was a strange sense, but my senses were pinpoint accurate and I'd learned quickly to trust them. Those alert senses suggested she was familiar, but older than any mare I'd recently or not-so-recently met. I'd only met a few buckskins like her color. She did have pretty eyes, though. "Hello," I began. A good, not-awkward beginning, right? Well, it explained for the lack of social contact I'd had. "I hope Skremm -Krom, I mean- didn't frighten you, whatever he said. I am--" Geiri. The wolves always called me Geiri in their language "Graye," I offered to make it simpler. In trying to be courteous, I extending my muzzle for her to sniff. Little did she know I'd seen her before and recognized her. After my incident...I'd hardly met many unique horses and before I'd never spoken to this mare, but she seemed so familiar.
"Out of curiosity, what did Krom say?" I asked, knowing I couldn't keep myself from being curious.
OOC - I'm going with your style of using Norwegian names, then converting them.

The wolves glared at her for a moment, but they did not attack. Dar stared at them for a moment, but then they turned and disappeared into the bushes. Her acute ears and nostrils picked up another scent, but then there was a confusion. At first, she thought more wolves were coming, but then there was a mingling horse's scent, and she spun around to see. No wolves made an appearance, but there was a grey horse coming towards her. She blinked a moment, watching him with mild suspicion, but realized that there must be other wolves in the area, and relaxed her tense frame. She surveyed the horse, a stallion who approached her with what appeared to be friendly intentions. She took a good look. His coat was the color of stone, and he had a black mane and tail. His legs were also dark. He wasn't very tall, quite a bit shorter than herself, but he seemed....big. He was young too, so he would probably grow to be about her own height.
He spoke to her, and it seemed slightly awkward, but friendly enough. It seemed he knew the wolves whom had been...speaking with her, and was starting to act like a man. He was definitely young, probably not much younger than herself, but there was something else there about him. Something oddly familiar, but she couldn't quite pin point it. Something bright orange and yellow flashed across her vision in that moment, and she started a little, but she realized that it was something only she could see. However, the moment passed, and the horse introduced himself as Graye, and then proceeded to ask a very unusual question. He wanted to know what the wolf had said to her. So, he understood their way of communicating? Was he also connected with wolves? Maybe that was why she had mistaken him for a wolf in the first place, because he was associated with them. This was not entirely the truth, but the young mare did not know it.
"No, not at all," she said with a smile. "They're just bothersome, always following me everywhere, but never a threat. It's nice to meet you Graye," she said with a smile. He seemed even more familiar now. No, she had never met him before. "My name is Darligulv, but you may call me Dar." She turned to look at the place where the wolves had disappeared and sighed. "I don't really understand them. All my life they've followed me, known me, I just wish I knew why. I have dreams, confusing dreams, dreams of wolves and creatures that walk on two legs that don't make any sense. It seems like they should be connected, but for some reason, I don't think they are." She stopped, and looked back at Graye. She walked up to him, her mind whirling. "I don't know you." she said, voicing her thoughts. "So why do I trust you?" she said quizzically. She would never, never say these things to a complete stranger, but she was talking to him.
Immediately she was suspicious again. "What are you doing to me?" she asked. "Are you tricking me, using some sort of magic, am I being ridiculous or do I know you from somewhere?" She was a talker, that much was for certain, and she circled him swiftly, her dark brown eyes boring into his. She was not aggressive in the least, she was just wondering. "You just feel so...." she stopped. "Right. I guess..." She stopped, and shook herself mentally. Then, for some strange reason, she answered his question. "They asked me my name, I told them. Then, and I quote, the black once said 'You are the one. You are the Bad Wolf.'" She stared at him a moment.
"Does this mean anything to you Graye?"
muse; exploded... notes; wow....longer than I expected. (lol I used the same color and I didn't even mean to xD...well, when I first picked it out. xD)

Graye
I wanted to give the young mare who called herself Dar, the benefit of the doubt. I listened to her awkward words, as she tried to make out the reasoning and form it into sentences. Obviously she was thrown off by me, as was I of her. She certainly let the words flow, but I had the strange feling it was these kinds of deep, thoughtful, questioning words she didn't often confess to someone. Especially not me. Maybe it was the wolves that made her comfortable around me. It was certainly one thing I had in common with her.
Bad...Wolf? I thought to myself, translating the title in my head. My name, Geiri, had a meaning. All of them did. Eirik's full name meant 'ruler'. He was our largest, strongest, and the clan leader. My name, Geiri, was 'spear'. Krom's name derived from an evil meaning. And Dar's name was Bad Wolf. Strange.
I tipped my head curiously to the side as I listened to the lady when she told me what Krom said. The gray beach clouds hung wispy over the water, grey like my coat, and they cast light shadows across her face. Made her eyes look sad. Or maybe it was my magination. Then she began to drift, talking about why she felt like she did and that the wolves seemed to follow her around... It was then that a realization came to mind. She had been so familiar, because it was I who had before seen the mare. I'd never known her name until now...but somehow, I was certain it had been my clan who had seen Dar before. I recognized her scent now. Often, you see, certain details get lost in the midst of my frequent transformations. And lately, I noticed that I was losing more and more of my equine half, and my wolfish side was growing stronger and stronger. Eirik had been right.
She talked about two-legged creatures. I was silent and expressionless. When she paused, I interjected. "Humans," I said. "They're called humans, wth two legs. Far from us here, but dangerous all the same." My vice faded out as I sensed she was growing agitated. She started to go on the defensive as if ths whole time she'd been talking she'd been wary of me, but had just now noticed it for sure and was just now voicing it to me.
"Magic?" I paused, my lower lip quivering just slightly. I looked past Dar and out into the ocean's blue depth. I'd dealt in magic before. I remembered things, that I'd always thought tried to tell me about magic! But I'd pushed them away, or long since forgotten them. Something...about a white horse? "No sense, to...believe in fairytales and magic." I said astutely, setting my jaw. "No magic, you aren't mad at all. But I'm a little curious bout you, Dar. Have you ever tried to discover why it is the wolves follow you?" In te trees a pair of glinting eyes watched me. When I met then, they disappeared. Suddenly I felt rather tired, too. It wasn't Dar being there, but the changing itself...and talking about it.
"Walk with me?" I wanted to get away from the eyes in the trees and out onto open ground. I nodded to an unfixed point down the shore, where the sand bank was wider and we could walk cose to the water's edge and eyes in the trees couldn't get very close to us. I began to walk, my body at first swaying a bit much, my head drooping low to the ground. I was still adjusting to the balance factor; the ground felt as though it were rocking back and forth before my eyes. But it slowed and when I could, I looked around us rather discreetly, to be sure we weren't followed. No doubt Agna would chew me out for straying so far. When Dar and I were walking side by side I thought about Krom's words.
"Wolves...have very good memories. And they pass them along from one to another. In pictures and feelings." The warm wind blew sand into my eyes and I snorted rather indignantly. "So if w--they can remember things they can hold grudges. And keep in mind...wolves are lovely about holding grudges." I had to stop myself from, well, giving me away.
"Think about it, Dar. Krom knows something you don't; maybe I can help you find out."
OOC - DONE!!!

He was a curious beast, that much was for certain. He listened to her ridiculous speech, and she felt like an idiot. As she rambled, he listened, but then he interrupted briefly. Humans....human beings...She thought about it for a moment. Why did that sound so familiar? Humans...So, they were dangerous creatures, probably carnivores. However, that seemed somewhat off. Anything could be dangerous. She frowned a little, thinking. Humans... Why did they seem so familiar, yet so far away? Then, out of nowhere, it happened again...
...I was born on that planet, which makes me, officially the last human being in this room...
She started, and blinked. Why was everything so confusing? It was then that she realized that the words had not been her own...she had see something again. She listened to Graye again, and realized how stupid she'd been to think it was magic. "Of course..." she muttered. She looked at him, a little confused? "Have I tried to figure out why? Of course I have! They've been following me my entire life!" the last words came out almost as a hiss. She glared at him a moment, but she wasn't really angry with him. She sighed a little when he asked her to walk with him. Was she sure? Yes, she was sure. She trusted him. She made to follow him, and walked up next to him, but she was a little bit curious about him. He seemed to be walking as if he wasn't used to it, he looked somewhat unbalanced, and it was very odd, but she did not comment on it.
Soon Graye was speaking again, and she listened intently. And of course she caught the blunder. She caught everything, she was good at that sort of thing, but that didn't mean she could work it out in a second. That was the...she stopped. Who's job was that? Well, it was a job for somebody else. She thought he was going to say "we", but that wouldn't make any sense. However, she decided it wasn't important for the time being, and so she tucked it safely in the corner of her mind, and listened to what he had to say. He certainly had valuable information on wolves, but she didn't quite understand. "But why would they have a grudge against me? I don't even..." she stopped talking, and walking. "I don't even know...where I've been." She looked somewhat horrified for a moment, rooted to the spot. "I remember...oh, three months ago or so, I was wandering up in the mountains, and then...I have no idea what I've been doing since then." She looked at Graye, and started walking again, the look of horror still mingling in her expression.
"Yes, you probably could help me find out," she said distantly. "And I bet it has something to do with what I've been up to the last three months." She looked at Graye and smiled for the first time, an actual smile. "Tell me Graye," she said with a grin. "Are you one for traveling?"

Graye
She just seemed utterly confused, and I'd admit I wa a bit curious as well. But something Krom had told me, in that one long look he gave me... Something in his eyes... I shook away the thought and looked at Dar, patient as she tried to recall. "I've been...around in these woods recently as well." I wasn't yet ready to reveal all of myself to her. "My friends and I, you see, we travel around quite a bit. It really isn't any trouble!" I tried to throw her a comforting smile, at least a pleasant look.
Strangely, amid all the confusion she was obviously feeling, she was rather nice about it. I felt for her a little, wishing there was a way I could help her, but I simply didn't think I could yet, not quite. I couldn't reveal all that as me to her, because for one, I didn't know her all that well, and two, my pack would claw my eyes out for betraying them. But I'd seen her before, I'd been watching her. And I felt like I wanted to protect her from someone like Krom. I knew that wolf, and had known him for a while. I wasn't going to let that dark wolf near her.
"I--I'm not sure what he meant. But I've seen him before, and I don't think he's up to any good. Krom, I mean." The beach air blew against my eyes and it tasted salty in my mouth. I looked to the trees and felt a bit of relief to see no one coming near us. Normally I would never leave my pack's sight and already I was certain Eirik would be chasing my tail for having wandered out of their sight. But this was different; I was oddly enough, committed to finding out what my connection to Dar was. I was debating how much of myelf Dar needed to know...and how much was best kept to myself. But one way or another, it would be a secret from the pack. Only Eirik might be able to help me, becuse if I din't fix the way things were going, I wouldn't be any help to Dar at all in about three years, or less. "So," I began, giving one last look up in the trees before watching Dar again. "If...you'll let me help you, I think I know where we should start." I realized this journey would have to take us back to the foests, to the place I saw Dar last. "I don't know what we're looking for, or who, but I think I know where."
OOC - sorry it seems a little short, there isn't much to say! We can start a new post in the forest next.

Darligulv
He seemed so friendly, it was hard not to accept help. She wanted somebody to travel with, it was nice. It was good not to be all on your own for a change. She smiled broadly at him when he said that he traveled a lot. "Me too! Well..." she paused. "At least, that's what I think." She giggled a little. Despite the confusion, and the worry, it was rather fun to not know yourself. "Well, I have a feeling we'll find the answers someday." She said cheerfully.
They started to make their way along the beach, and Dar was about to make the executive decision to move into the forest, when Graye was talking again. She looked at him. Wonderful! He knew where to start. "That's fabulous, I love it when somebody knows where to go..." she paused again. "That makes me sound an awful lot like a follower...am I a follower? Great. I really am having some issues here." She looked at Graye a moment.
"You probably think I'm mad. Well, you must be mad too if you want to come with me, but I'd love to have some 'help', but I'm more interested in the company!" As she said this, she pondered her behavior for a moment, and for some reason it made her giggle. She tried to stop, but one giggle just lead to the other, and soon she was laughing so hard she couldn't stop. She walked almost like she was intoxicated, and it wasn't for a good three or four minutes until she hiccuped herself back into seriousness again.
"Okay!" she gasped. "Lead the way Graye!"
muse; okay notes;lol, Dar is loosing it xD yeah, it was fine...not much, I'll start something in the woods later shall I? They've been traveling for....a few days now?
