FAMILY had a small herd as a young colt that he'd inherited from his dying father, and took care of his mares well; his herd was small but he had several fillies and colts.
ABDUCTION when his oldest daughter, Missy, was with him one day Mack's youngest filly fell into a river and Mack saved her, but when he'd been rescuing her Missy had simply disappeared and no one had seen her; Mack searched for her for days and followed her trail, leaving behind his herd until he finally found her body, scarred and mangled, and he smelled a stallion's scent.
CHASE running after the foreign stallion Mack tried to catch his daughter's killer but couldn't, and collapsed from exhaustion; when Mack returned to his herd they'd been stolen from him and he had nothing left, so he traveled to the lands of the cursed.

PERSONA

CONFLICTED can't come to terms with Missy's death and feels guilty for it, and he's never opened up to anyone about it and feels like he's betraying her memory if he tells anyone why he feels so bad.
AFFECTIONATE a real family guy, and he won't give up a lose cause even when it seems hopeless; he has plenty of love to give out but he holds back because he's so calm and shy and afraid to hurt anyone, even himself, although he sometimes wishes he was dead.
