Celestial Moon
I hadn't intended to survive. How I did was indescribable and just pure luck, other herds took me under when I got lost in the daylight, and then I would leave. I couldn't stay long, if I had they would have figured it out. Since they had sent all the dark stallions away I was surprised when I chanced upon earlier. He hadn't seemed that bad, but my gut told me to get away. Something told me he wasn't as gentle as he seemed, and as he stared into my violet orbs I knew that I needed to get away.
I had run to wherever I could, he had been following but I got a lot of ground once I had changed. I could go any route I wanted once the moon was out. Rocky cliffs could be climbed, thick brush could be crawled through, and this haunting stallion had to take the long way, and soon he had lost my trail. I had just started wandering, doing a full circle around Tainted Paradise in the full two years that I had lived. I mostly stuck to the coast in the summer, seeing as it was so warm, it was easy to survive, but when a storm struck I would climb inwards towards the forest and the valley's of this land.
What was Tainted Paradise. I place of misfortune, trouble and pain. I nodded to myself, that described my life here so far. This was a place of magic, darkness and light, happiness and anger, gods and us mere mortals, and then there were the Cursed. I hadn't seen one but when I had gone near that part of the land, when I looked across the border, the stallions and mares weren't exactly kind. Trying to encourage me to cross the border, when the stallions asked I almost crossed multiple times, but she the mares called, saying I would be safe there, I shivered and moved on.
I didn't know why mares freaked me out so much. I mean, I was one of them, but for some reason, stallions seemed easier to get along with. Always trying to please you, while mares almost judged you if you made the wrong first impression. The sun was high and I knew that I had almost, at least 6 hours until it would come. It was odd when it came, like I was walking away from myself and my new form was walking towards me. When my life got tangled it was often because of that form, this power that I was supposedly 'blessed' with by the gods.
Who chose them to be our gods. I didn't want them to give us powers that others could only dream about, it was because of this stupid power that my life was so messed up. Everything that happened to me was because of this stupid power. I felt my oddly white hooves catch on something on the ground, and I fell forward, almost landing on my face. I often daydreamed about my problems, and when it got to intense I would trip, fall, or get distracted by something, like that tree.
It wasn't a normal tree, alone and scraggly, I wondered why it was there alone. All the other life seemed to grow around it. The grass was gone underneath it and the trees stayed at a least 200 meter distance away from it. I walked towards it but when I tried to step towards the tree towards the dirt I felt an uneasy feeling. I squirmed underneath this pressure, and I looked at the ground, should I keep going, or should turn around and pretend I never saw it before.
My curiosity was a problem. Like the time when I was one year old, the most beautiful cover was standing right there but when I went in, a big lump was laying there. I looked at it curiously and then decided to poke it. I had the same feeling then as I had now, and when I poked it with my nose, its eye opened. I screamed and ran, and the bear chased me. I could only run faster and as I climbed the steep cliff that stood in my way, my hooves flicked a rock at the bear. I watched in terror, the whites of my eyes showing as it hit his nose. I shook when I couldn't go any farther, but when the rock hit his black nose, instead of getting angry it ran away. I had taken shelter there that night, and once I had changed climbed over the ledge and made a shelter.
I shook my had as I caught up to my dream. I stared at the tree for a second before stepping onto the turf of dirt. I thought that a shock would have struck me, or a force field would have threw me back 10 feet, but nothing happened. A smug smile spread across my muzzle as I realized I had won the first battle. I took another step, and before my white hoof had touched the ground I heard a rattle. My hoof stepped and a snake, with sharp points layering his stomach like some sort of machine was staring at me from behind the tree. I took a step away and it rattled it's tail, hissing at me. Oh shit. I stared at the snake, and tried to calm him down. It's okay, I was just passing through, I tried to put out happy vibes to the snake but it seemed to only make him angrier. I am so stupid, I grumbled under my breath. Time was slowly ticking down, I couldn't stay here forever. Could I?
