~I am the Master of my Fate.~
The night was dark. Only several stars had decided to shine their brilliance upon this dry land, but the moon didn't even have the decency to show its self at all. The ancient forest was as black as a jaguar's pelt, only a focused eye would see a glint of gold, and a ribbon of silver pause for a fleeting moment, before racing amidst the tall trees...
I flicked my dark tipped harks back and forth, listening for that dreadful brute's scream. As I ran, my heart felt as though it was about burst through my chest, I was sure that the stag that murdered my father would jump out at at any given moment and herd me back to his godforsaken land, but that never happened... My breathing was steady and in time with my rhythmic hoofbeats, a thin layer of perspiration covered my dappled bodice, dulling it's usual golden shine. The sound of my light hoofbeats rumbling in my auds relieved my mind, now I had time to think things through, like... Why was I running away? Well, I was sick of that testosterone filled brute pushing me around all day every day, that's why. And the thought of what was going to happen next was another main topic spinning around my mind; Would I become a loner, and roam through all the lands? Or, will I finally find somewhere that I could call home? Well, whatever happened next, no matter how strange, it will have to be better than the life I just escaped from...
Whilst galloping around trees and thinking of my future, I hadn't noticed the morning sun light, as it began to cascade through the tree canopies to shine upon myself and the array of red and orange leaves that carpeted the forest floor. The forest slowly began to thin, I smiled to myself and bucked, ridding every last thought of that large brute from my mind. My satin tapestry, from its obsidian roots to its milky tips, was illuminated by the golden light of dawn, it had been years since I was this happy...
Dual coloured optics scanned my surroundings, I was no longer running through the forest, but a beautiful meadow, I flicked my harks forward and raised my crania. My limbs slowed to a halt, my nares expanded as I inhaled deeply, the sweet scent of freedom filled my lungs, I held my breath as I never wanted to lose this feeling ever again. I hadn’t picked up on the scent of the stallion that had claimed this terra, but I was so overwhelmed with the thought of freedom… With one last glance at the tree line behind me, I reared and snorted. As my forelimbs touched the earth, something caught my eye, a large creature moving towards me, my auds strained forward, but the glaring rising sun, combined with my bad eye, made it hard for me to make out what the creature was, but by it's size and movement, it must be another equine. My heartbeat quickened and my eyes widened, the beast’s strong, musky scent filled my nostrils and in a flash my bodice became transparent, from the tip of my harks, to my hooves... "Hello?..." I asked cautiously, I held my breath, my dappled pelt slowly reappeared, I tilted my crania slightly to the side to try and obscure my grim scar from the stag's vision, I inhaled sharply and waited cautiously for an answer...

Domino Nimble limbs moved the cow forward, there was an intruder in his land, and he was going to find it. A sweet aroma settled in his nares as he continued at a steady gallop, it was a mare's scent. A smile curled on his muzzle, was she here to join his herd? This would be the second mare in the last couple days to stumble into his land. Crimson harks swiveled, as the cow slowed. The forest had opened up into a meadow, emerald grass starting to sprout.
He stopped, watching as a golden fae with ivory tassels galloped from the opposite side of his terra. She was gorgeous! The brute's pelt changed to a peachy color, his heart pounding hard in his chest. He stepped into the meadow, the vixen had stopped now and was slicing away at the orange sky. "Hello." he replied, approaching her. "My name is Domino." He introduced himself, dipping his crown in respect to the mare.

~I am the Master of my Fate.~
My dappled pelt sparkled in the morning sun, I stared at the approaching stallion, his pelt changing from crimson to peach, I shook my crania lightly, thinking my eyes were playing tricks. The handsome stallion introduced himself as Domino, I flicked my auds back and forth, "Hello Domino..." I stopped mid-sentence, How can I trust this stag with my name? I've only just met him... I took a wary step back, my harks flicked backwards in caution, milky whipcords tucked lightly between my hindlimbs.
Still, I stared at stallion, the horrid scar that ran down the side of my face was in full view. My auds swivalled forward again, the stallion 'Domino', had dipped his crown to me, I had never known anyone, especially a stallion who thought I was worthy of such a sign of respect. "My..." I started, before holding my tongue for a second time, my mind was telling me don't, but my heart said otherwise. Finally I took a deep breath, "My name is Invictus..." A soft, melodic voice flowed from my velvet maw. I gazed at Domino, while my dual coloured orbs pleaded for assurance, my facial expression was full of caution. Oh, I hope I've done the right thing...

Domino The stag waited patiently for the mare to reply with her name, noting that she was a bit hesitant. Her dual colored orbs starred into his, the stallion offering her a warm smile to ease the tension. Arching his neck proudly, the brute listened to her angel sweet voice. "Invictus." It was a unique name, much like the mare that it belonged to. Though he had just met the golden dappled fae, he knew that she was different. . . In a good way he hoped. Cautiousness lingered in her face, Domino quickly thinking of something to say to her. "Um. . . Oh. . What brings you here?" He asked politely, not wanting to frighten the mare away.
Domino smiled cheekily at her, hoping that she would warm up to him a little. She seemed tense, withdrawn, like she really hadn't meant to come here. He hoped that maybe she would decide to stay here, she would be a nice addition to the herd.

~I am the Master of my Fate.~
My auds flicked back and forth, I looked up at an eagle soaring high above, but the sunlight caused me to look away, a sharp pain shot through my glassy orb, ever since that horrible brute inflicted me with this scar across my eye, I could not look at anything bright, like the sun, without it causing pain. I shook my crania and blinked several times until I could see clearly again.
My sensitive harks had heard Domino’s question, and I looked back at him just in time to see his smile. Slowly, a small smile pulled at the corners of my velvet kissers, and I smiled in return. Smiling, it seemed so strange as I hadn’t smiled for what seemed like years… My two-tone whipcords flicked against my dappled barrel, I started to relax, just a bit. “Um… Well, let’s just say I want to have a fresh start…” My whicker was still soft, but my face said don’t ask. Domino will have to be patient if he wants to know my history, but if he is truly as nice and caring as he seems at the moment, he won’t be waiting long…
My blue and chocolate orbs looked around the land once more, it really was quite beautiful, emerald grass, tall shady trees… “So is this your kingdom Domino?” I asked, and without realising, I took a small step towards the handsome stallion…
