I ran into this land and suddenly fell in awe over this amazing land. I decided i wanted the land i walked the land and sniffed the air. No one was here so i whinned as loud as i could no answer. I ran around With my banner flying out behind me. i must mark my terriotory. " I Fire Shadow claim this land as my own." I will love this home. I will have a huge herd a lovely family.

Inception

The grey mare trotted breezily in the light wind, long smoky black tal fluttering and stringing behind her like a thick, dark banner, wavy and curling with the wind's puffs. Her swirling mane blew off its resting place on her shoulder and forelock was lifted from her broad face.

She whinnied insearch of Fire Shadow, the confident little stallion she had met in the Abode. He was a little too confident and seemed to rush into and through things, she noticed, but he was nice. She whinnied again, a sound sweet and melodic, the wind carrying her strong voice to the highest mountaintops and the lowest valley bottoms.

Finally, the smoky grey mare caught sight of a moving figure, and quickened her pace, catching a familiar stallion's scentin the wafting breeze. She loped easily up beside him, and shook her long mane excitedly. She ws happy to see him, but a bit of gloom still lingered in her chest from leaving her sister only a short while ago.

"Fire shadow, so nice to see you! Your land was difficult to locate, but at last I am here!"

Fire shadow

I heard a mare screaming my name. I turned around to see Inception running for me.
“Hello my love it is nice to see you. I'm sorry that it was hard to find me. But you' re here now that's all that counts. Any special requests.” I can't wait for my herd to get up and running. Hopefully my first foal will be with her. I can just imagine what the foal will look like. With my fiery bay and her beautiful gray coat. I can't wait for my life to be up and running. I hope she likes it here.
“ Do you like it here? If its too cold we can migrate down the mountain more.” It was a little cold it might start to snow soon. I looked at the sky just as little flakes of snow started to fall.
“ If it snows too much I might be able to find you. You will blend right in.” I started to laugh. And frolic about.

She tried hard to smile, but the pain of the separation from her mentor, her most beloved sister, weighed indifferently on her broad shoulders. She covered her feeings, however, and managed a thin grin for the lively horse.

"Yes, Shadow, I suppose it is. I must ask something of you, however...please, don't call me 'love'. Pardon the oddity of my request, it's just that I..."

Her voice became a distant hum in her whirring mind, as she drew farther and farther from her body, standing there in the stallion's land. She felt the quiver of shaky legs beneath her, but then it went dark.

She opened her heavy eyes...she felt the tiring weight of a body she did not know, it was not hers...surveying the land, she caught a blackened lake, a stench so awful it pierced her nostrils and caused her to shirk away. Voices, she heard voices...two mares, one more raspy than the other, and a stallion's masculine tone. Her strong eyes glanced around, and she glimpsed her coat. In the hazy fog of her dreary state, she saw a chocolate coat, and long locks of creamy mane breezing over her shoulder. She opeed her mouth, but found no air...and it was over...

Gasping for breath, the grey mare lowered her head and coughed, sputtering and snorting a few times before regaining her bearings. Her mind spun violently and her hooves skittered uncertainly over the level ground. She had encountered a link. The link reached out to her and called her, tugging at her insides. She became conscious, and looked at Shadow for a moment, her eyes confused yet understanding, wise yet apologetic, all mixed together.

I turned to confirm her request. I Watched in shock that she fell to the ground. I rushed to her side. I freaked then i got up and started paces thinking what was going on and why. Then i heard start gasping for air. She snorted many times. I rushed to her side again.
" What Is going on and what happpend. I'm really worried about you i hope that never happens again. What did you see." I rambled on and on. BUt it was only because i was worried about mny first mares health and safety. I Never imagined having a sick mare.
" Are you sick, LIke dying or somehting. But even if you were i will stay by your side i will be with you every secound of every hour. I will help you get through this." I sat searching her eyes until i found an answer.
" Did you have a connection. What was it to."

Eyes rolling for a moment to help regain her composure, she struggled to maintain her balance. Finally she pulled herself to all four hooves, and looked up with grey swirling eyes at Shadow who had rushed over to her. Normally she would have reacted, but in the reality of the situation, she stood by him, comforted somewhat by his embrace that reminded her of Deja.

"i...I don't know...what just happened..."

She stopped to squeeze her eyes shut and mull over the pounding within her body which suddenly seemed so frail.

"My head...it was a link. I saw, I saw another place...I'm not sure where. There were several horses, a Cursed herd. I saw a mare, a brown mare, and her mind seemed to reach out to me. I don't think I've seen her before, but she does seem familiar..."

"Could you have a family member possibly an sister in the cursed lands." I got thinking that some horses do get links from their family. I got one from my brother when i wandered from him one time. The link lead me to him and i never left his side until i was old enough.
" Please dont leave me because of this i will travel with you to figure it out. Just dont leave me alone again." I was pleaded because i hated being left alone. It is like torture justthinking that your all alone and no one can save you. I Hate it.

She let a faraway gaze come over her softened features, staring calmly, serenely into the stretching lands. Up here in the mountains, one could see the whole of the lands, even as far as the dark and treacherous shadowy grounds, the ones called The Cursed lands. She sighed, dipping her head suddenly to scratch her soft cheek against her outstretched grey foreleg. The mare let her neck reach out and shake back and forth once, her darl, luscious mane falling into place on one side. She turned to Shadow and, her gaze softening deeply, she looked into his own eyes and detected the concern and responsibility he felt for caring for her. Immediately a soft smile lit her face and kind words fluttered to her lips. Perhaps the stallion wasn't much for first impressions, but he cared. Something her sister would have never thought possible.

"Oh, Shadow, I won't leave this place. Fear not, I am not even certain I know or have known this mare of my dreams anyways. I will simply wait, I will wait and see if she speaks to me again. And anyhow, I know the rumors of the lands. Those who enter the threshold of the Cursed Lands are forever bound to its grasping reaches, never to return. Ah, well, I suppose my link to this being will be all I have for now."
