Coraline
Off in the distance heavy breaths could be heard. The pounding of hopes echoed through the hushed terra. Every now and then, the footsteps stopped ad a small scream would erupt from the bushes. After five minutes of that, it was over. Grullo fae could Noe be seen. She wa quite the looker, if you get past the scars covering her face. She was sobbing now.
She once loved somebody. The other mother. She was a liar. She had tried to sew buttons over her eyes to make Coraline hers forever. Walking beside the sobbing mare, a tall, skinny black tomcat waltzed next to her. He would whisper comforting words to the mare who was near collapsing. When the mare paused to catch her breath, the lanky cat leaped upon her back and curled up.
"Coraline! That's enough. She isn't here." The black tomcat came close to hissing and the mare shivered. 'But what if she's hiding in the trees?' Coraline whispered hurriedly. The mare was answerd with a wack from the cat's paw. The mare winced and continued to move.
Braking quickly when the dove heard rustling in the trees, she screamed loudly. The cat jumped and hissed at the mare. "Shut up! It's not her!" Feline hisse and swatted her again. The mare flattened her harks and slowly continued to move.
When dusk began to fall, the mare headed for shelterr under a large willow tree. Slowly, she lowered herself to the ground and sighed. "You know cat, that you are very rude and sarcastic sometimes." the fae glared. The cat looked at her through slitted greenish yellow optics and rolled them. "Noo really?" he answerd her.
Coraline glared at the cat an sighed. Rain began to pour and Coraline slammed her harks back. "I hate the rain! I thought it was supposed to be summer! And yet it's rainig?!" the mare hissed through clenched teeth. She jumpe to her feet and dumped the cat on the ground. She ran out into the rain and began to kick out viscously at the ground. She reared up and struck out at the sky. When she hit the ground, her blue globes flashed with anger and her blueish banner whipped angrily in the wind. "Cant so someone come out and help us find some decent shelter?!" the mare screamed.
She was truly furious and soon she began to sob recklessly, hoping the someone would come soon.

Valek
Clouds hung heavy on the horizon, urging me to move faster, but I didn't. I didn't think they would let loose any rain when they travelled overhead, because, truly, who had heard of a rainstorm in the middle of summer? Spring, and autumn, yes. But summer? Unheard of. So I gave to heed to the foreboding towers of grey cloud and kept moving at a steady place through the place of rest.
Unfourtunately I was wrong. Soon the clouds dumped their contents over the dry lands, parching the thirst of the earth. I snorted as the first raindrop hit my head, I tossed my onyz crania into the air. Rain? In summer? That was just plain weird. Yet it seemed the world had decided there was need for rain, and so it rained. Painting the drying world with water that seemed to bring all the colours of the bleached forest to the surface like water on a fading watercolour painting.
The rain dripped from the sky, through the branches, and seemed to deliberately land on my nose. I snorted and rumbled deep in my chest. I had never liked the rain, although I had come to put up with, but a drop right in the middle of my nose? That was just annoying. I tossed my head again, making the muscles of my neck ripple like water. The red marking on my chest wavered, and I knew to an onlooker it must look like my life's blood poured from it. That would be wrong.
Suddenly a furious scream filled the air, asking why there was no shelter. My ears pricked and interest sparked in my sapphire blue optics. So someone needed help? Hmmm, not exactly my normal job, but, anything to take my mind off the rain that seemed to have something against me. Although.... It would depend if the horse in need would accept aid from an assassin, and a master on at that. Not that there was a need to tell the horse that my job was killing horses.
I turned neatly on my haunches and started moving in the direction of the livid scream. This would be interesting. Sobbing filled the air, and I guessed I was getting close to the horse that screamed out recklessly for help. My ears twitched, gathering other sounds from the air. The horse's heartbeat was loud, enraged even, and for a moment it masked a softer, faster heartbeat. The second I heard that second throbbing beat I moved into a quicker pace, curiousity overwhelming any desire to make a dramatic entrance.
The heartbeat had to belong to an small animal, and a soft footed one at that. A squirrel, or perhaps a cat. Strange company for a horse to be keeping. Then again, it was strange for a horse to be alone. Even an assassin who prefered his own company. So why was it that hard to believe a horse might be with a small animal? I couldn't pinpoint it.
I slid to stop as I saw a grullo mare standing out in the pounding rainstorm. Once again the absurbness of a rainstorm in the middle of summer flashed through my mind, momentarily distracting me from the mare. Then I shook it away and focussed on the grullo.
She was quite pretty, well, under those scars that puckered her face. Large blue eyes dripped tears, or maybe it was rain? I shook my head, flicking drops from my obsidian forelock everywhere.
"What do we have here? A pretty mare and a softfooted hunter, all dripping wet," I said in ways of greeting. Sure, it made me sound insane, but why keep up appearances. They didn't know I was a master assassin, and I didn't want them to know. "Perhaps you need asssistance."

Coraline
Sure it was a freak, mid-summer rainstorm. But this place obviously needed it. Grullo dove shook her crania fiercely, trying to free her body from it's wet blanket. But of course, she failed. She hung her head and let her wet forelock drape over her glassy optics. The lanky feline walked nimbly to the face and rubbed itself under her chin, hoping to bring up her spirits. He didn't do to much of succeeding either.
The pretty fae looked up with ears pricked, curious of what was hiding in the bushes. She had heard some noise, and saw some movement, but who knows? She could have been hallucinating like she sometimes does.
She could smell him now. Yes, a him. The mare's auds swiveled like clockwork. She was still pending whether or not trust him or not. The cat arched his back and hissed, but then slowly lowered himself. The mare cocked her head and giggled madly.
Out of nowhere, a black stallion showed himself. He had bright blue dazzling After Coraline had thoroughly looked him over, she had found a large red marking on his chest in the form of a 'C'. Coraline smiled and stepped closer.
The stallion had said something to her, and she giggled. "Why, i guess it seems that way." She said back wise-cracking him. She smiled and looked at him again. He seemed different, and she liked it. She stepped even closer and out stretched her nose, curiosity getting the best of her. Softly, she touched his nose and jumped back with a squeal.
The lanky ebony feline just cocked an eyebrow and rolled his slitted optics. "Don't worry, she's not entirely insane..." He exaggerated the word entirely and looked at the black stallion. The cat sat down and began to lick his paw, obviously uninterested in the two.
The mare looked around at her surroundings. While the rain continued to pour down, the young mare tried to look past the heavy sheet of rain. She could tell that she was in a forest like terra and she liked it. Thunder rolled somewhere off in the distance and she shivered.
She looked at the stallion once more and decided to say something, but she couldn't find any words to say, so she shut her mouth. She smiled prettily and shook her frame once more. Coraline listened intently to her surroundings.
The wind whistled through the trees and the rain finally died down. The fae looked down and couldn't seem to find the scrawny feline. Maybe he had gone off to hunt. She looked in every direction, but couldn't find him anywhere.
"Oh well." She muttered under her breath. Just as she was about to break the never ending silence between the two of them, she had a flashback. It was about her. The other mother. With a start, her eyes widened until they showed their whites and then it all went down hill from there.
Then, suddenly, all her fears came back. She darted back wards and started to whimper. "SHE sent you, didn't she!!" She screamed. She dropped her head and cried. Every now and then, she would peer up at him through her bluish forelock, waiting for his wrath to come. But it never did.
Finally the feline came back. He looked at the foolish mare and the almost innocent looking stallion. HE walked up to the cat and swatted her on the nose. "I highly doubt she sent him. Look at his eyes! He has no buttons!" He hissed. Coraline jerked her head back and and shied away.
Slowly, she raised her mass and glanced at him. HE had to think she was insane by now. "I'm sorry. Someone is after me and I have to be on the constant look out.." She murmured. Coraline felt really stupid right now so she slowly stepped closer to him. "May I ask what your name is kind sir? My calling is Coraline, not Caroline." She said with a sincere dip of her crown. Mare looked back up at him, calmly waiting for him to answer...
