The Weather

Here there be monsters.

Season: Late Spring
The weather is mild here. The yellow grass has turned green again and the sweet flavor is back. The sun is out more often then not, and the sky is usually clear at night. Occasionally there is a light drizzle to help water the land, but not enough to see any floods. The desert is warm during the day and cold at night, like normal, and the coast has a nice sea breeze coming off of the water. The forest and valley vary from day to day better never drop or rise to extremes, while the mountains stay consistently cool and snow capped. This summer is turning out to be a mild one.

The Plot

200 years have passed since the Gods trapped the cursed horses within their lands, and they have passed in peace. Now the Gods are considering releasing them from their curse, thus ending their punishment, but first it has been decided that a few of the gods and goddesses will wander the mortal realms to gather information about the situation. The gods and goddess chosen were Hades, God of Death, Bristile, God of Noxadon, The Truthseeker, the God of Fire, The Goddess of War, The Goddess of Beauty and the Goddess of Volcanos. A few of the gods were unhappy about that decision, and plans of rebellion are brewing. Whispers that perhaps the Cursed will be released are being heard throughout the Divine and Mortal Realms. All the realms are unsure of what is to come, but one thing is for certain: nothing is ever going to be the same.
The News Stand

The Cursed is officially REOPENED!!! A few staff positions are still available and soon there's going to be auditions for gods and goddesses. Everything's been cleaned up, but if there's a post you want to finish that in the inactive boards, just PM a staff member and we'll put it back.

Inside a swirling vortex of fog, smoke and mist lies a huge stone wall on which the names of all the currently living horses in Tainted Paradise. When a horse dies its name remains on the list for four months until it is able to be used again.

Surrouned by a ancient forest, this huge meadow is a secluded place where mares come to meet stallions. The Abode seems unaffected by the seasons as it is unaltering. Perhaps it is a leftover bit of magic from times long gone.

Here is where mares come for peace and quiet away from herd life or just simply to relax. No forcing and claiming is allowed here, but if a mare meets a stallion and decides to join his herd she is 'claimed' and no one else can take her.

[ ]The Crumbling Cliffs
This stretch of cliffs was once known as Charcoal cliffs but years of the sea raging against them is telling their toll on the majestic cliffline. The black peat is crumbling into the ocean and it is almost certain death for any horse that goes there, which is why it is often used for suicide attempts.

An apt name for a place that isn't peaceful at all. The name is left from the time when Tainted Paradise was peaceful and this was full of lovers making foals, but now it is a place of forcers and terrified mares.

Here the ground is red, but not from natural colouring. It is red from the blood that has fallen upon it during the Wars. Bones and skulls are littered around the vast plain because no grass has grown to obscure them. It is a place of death and victory. A place where battles are won and lost.

Edging the west side of Tainted Paradise is the coast. The coats has a whole variety of lands from unforgiving cliffs to fairytale beaches. The coast is hit by the worst of the spring storms but is relativel warm in winter.

The desert is a harsh and unforgiving place to an unwary wanderer, but for those who know where the pockets of green are it is a haven from enemies. The desert remains hot all winter and has hardly any rainfall during spring.

Rising from the desert sand a huge range of mountains divides Tainted Paradise in half. These snowcapped peaks are amazing to live in, but in winter they become so cold that only the hardiest horses can live in them. Further down the slopes it is easier during winter, but there is still a huge amount of snow and ice.

Just east of the mountains there is a network of deep and shallow valleys. Most of these valleys are full of green grass and rivers, but a few are rocky and uninhabitable. The valleys are relatively warm in winter, recieving little snow but not much of it touches the bottom.

North of the valleys a huge, ancient forest grows. It is divided into many territories and a few forests around it are also up for claiming. In winter the forests are covered in a blanket of snow and are quite cold, but in summer the trees are green and the air is warm.

Just before the forests there is a huge lake that is so still its like a mirror. Growing in the middle of the lake are the most beautiful lillies ever seen. It is said that if their scent is inhaled by a mortal that mortal will become more beautiful or handsome than any divine. But, beware, a giant horse like creature lives in the lake, snapping up anything that entires its domain.

A land once claimed by humans, but now only their ghosts remain. Cursed horses come here from time to time, but it is generally empty. The horses must live among the musty old buildings, and a haunting dark river runs just outside of the town.

Once a beautiful place, the Black Lake is now as dark as it's name. The water is black with the decaying bodies of cursed horses. No one wants to be here, but it is the only place where there is water in the Cursed Lands except for a few tiny streams and ponds.

Like the Black Lake, the Rotting Forest used to be a beautiful place, but the curse placed upon the lands has changed it into a world of rotting trees and plants. The stench is unimaginable, but the cursed horses don't notice it as it is the best place to live in the cursed lands.

A deep network of valleys takes up the rest of the Cursed lands. The valleys are covered in a thick fog that obscures them from the rest of the world and it very easy to get lost in their misty depths. Most cursed stallions take up residence in a valley, but mares tend to stay away.
